It is time for another #CareerTipTuesday and we're excited to share with you some pointers regarding that dreaded questions: What is your professional weakness? . This is one of employers' favorite questions to ask. So you know that it's coming, but you may not know how to answer it! That's where we come in! Our Tip: Practice & Prepare Your Response Using 1 of 2 MethodsMethod 1: Pick a "safe" weakness that can be seen by an employer as a strength. . For Example: "I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist, which means that sometimes it can be more difficult for me to hear feedback. However, it also means that I always deliver at a high standard." . Method 2: Share an area that you've identified as a need for growth & how you've worked to address it. . For Example: "Time management does not come naturally to me. So I've learned to utilize calendars, task lists & intermediate deadlines to ensure that I'm able to balance all priorities & meet deadlines without sacrificing quality." . Employers recognize that we all have opportunities for growth. Therefore, demonstrating that you are both self-aware & teachable can go a long way in distinguishing yourself as an ideal employee. Bonus Tip: Honesty is ALWAYS the Best PolicyDon't forget to be honest. It is NEVER a good idea to lie in an interview. Therefore, it's helpful to take time to reflect on your growth areas & commit to your own development!
. Don't forget to practice! This is one of the top 10 most common interview questions. So there is no reason to be caught off guard by it when it comes up! If you're like every other human being on the planet, you likely have MANY weaknesses. We all do. It's just a fact. Pick one that is safe to share & that demonstrated what you have to offer! Don't miss an opportunity for improvement & professional development. Once you've identified it, work to grow through it. The best kept career secret is that you CAN learn & grow! . Remember, employers can teach technical skills & other specific job tasks relevant to a particular position...but professionalism, attitude & integrity will distinguish you as an ideal employee! Put your best foot forward with employers by showing them that side of you. #CareerTipTuesday #ClothingConfidenceCareer #ProfessionalGrowth #OpportunitiesForGrowth
