It is time for yet another #CareerTipTuesday and Well Suited for Work is here to help you put your best foot forward following that upcoming interview! . Employers typically consider many candidates while filling a single opening...often interviewing several candidates in a single day. So how do jobseekers stand out against a slew of other candidates? . Our Tip: Always Send Thank You Notes Be Prompt:
Send your Thank You note or email on the same day following the interview. If you're opting for a handwritten note, bring your notes and stamps with you to the interview and pop them in the mail immediately after the interview to reduce any delay. . Be Specific: Reiterate your interest in the position, the organization, and any specifics discussed that may make your conversation stand out. . Be Professional: Thank You notes and emails are yet another opportunity to demonstrate professionalism, communication and qualification. Use professional formatting and appropriate grammar. Proofread your communication before sending in order to avoid any typos. . When it comes to panel interviews, it is always best to send individual Thank You messages to each member of the panel, rather than a group email. This also allows you to connect specifically to each member of the panel, referencing any specific comments made by each individual. . Be sure to ask for contact information for each interviewer before the end of the interview. Candidates can do so very naturally by asking as one of their few prepared questions. . Remember, each interaction with a potential employer throughout the pre-employment process is an opportunity to demonstrate your professionalism and unique qualifications for the role. If you are the ideal candidate, don't miss an opportunity to demonstrate that to potential employers. #CareerTipTuesday #InterviewTips #ThankYouNotes
