Become a Regular Volunteer...
Suiting Assistant
Provide direct support to jobseekers as a Suiting Assistant specifically trained on employer expectations and industry standards to facilitate fitting appointments. Assist clients by pre-selecting a variety of options for each fitting based on referral information such as sizing and style preferences. This weekly or monthly commitment provides an opportunity to foster a retail-like experience similar to that of a boutique without the stress of high prices and incorporates support, tips and even a bit of coaching.
Sorting Specialist
Preparing for an interview or new employment can be intimidating enough without the added stress of both having a knowing what to wear. Our Sorting Specialists assist by sorting donated clothing to ensure that all inventory within our retail-like fitting room meets employer expectations and industry standards. Volunteers receive training in order to be confident in their knowledge and Well Suited for Success standards.
Laundry Specialist
Our goal is for each client to walk away from their fitting appointment with a pre-laundered and pressed outfit that can be worn right off the hanger. Laundry Specialists assist by laundering and ironing donated inventory in preparation for staging in our retail-like fitting room. Laundry Specialists can also assist by transporting clothing to and from our dry-cleaning partners.
Workshop Facilitator
Workshop Facilitators assist clients through regular Dress for Success Workshops aimed at equipping jobseekers and underemployed professionals with the knowledge and confidence to present their best selves in an interview setting and meet their employment goals. Clothing. Confidence. Career.
Group Opportunities
Well Suited for Work brings together individuals, corporations, community groups, faith communities and student groups in the tackling the challenges of poverty within our local community one suit at a time. Want to spend time making a difference, while deepening your relationships with friends, co-workers and peers? Your group can help in a variety of ways including sorting donations, hosting your own clothing drive, or providing administrative support with regular mailings.
